Torquay Bed And Breakfast

I recently went to Pier Point on Torquay harbourside for a meal with some friends.  I have to say that it was a lovely evening and the views across the Bay were stunning this is probably one of the closest restaurants to the sea that you can get in Torbay, you can almost reach out and touch it!!

However although the ambiance is perfect, the food and service was another matter!!!   We placed our order for food, there were 8 of us in our group, the restaurant itself was not full at the time, we had nearly an hours wait for our food which I found unacceptable!  When it arrived although it looked very nice and was presented well the portions were very small for the price!  We all thought the wait was far too long, and I had to order a sweet because I was still very hungry after my main course, my friend and I decided to share a sweet but to be honest it was so miniscule that even a 5 year old would have been asking for more!!

The restaurant is in a beautiful location but I will not be returning as I do not like being kept waiting so long before I eat and also I do not consider it is value for money!!

Torbay Council and Devon County Council are drawing up new plans for submission. They have been talking and planning for longer than I can remember!

It is so obvious that we need this new bypass – needed it 15 years ago. But still the talks go on and nothing happens. The cost gets higher and higher and funds become more impossible to find.

I cannot think of any other seaside town that has such an atrocious road into it. Visitors sit in an eternal queue. They must be totally frustrated by the time they reach Torbay.

The initial impact and arrival to a resort and make or break a holiday – and also put people permanently off coming back.
