Last night I went to Maha – Bharat an Indian  restaurant in Torwood street Torquay, I was recommended this restaurant by a friend and I have to say I was not disappointed.  The service was excellent from the time I arrived.  I had already booked a table for 8.00 pm and as soon as I arrived I was show to my table and within minutes the poppadoms had arrived with all the extras to go with them. The waiters were very attentive throughout the evening and the service was efficient without being hurried.  There was no pressure to eat up and get out!!

I would definitely recommend this restaurant I had chicken dansak with pilau rice and pesweri naan with one side order.

The kingfisher lager is a tad expensive that is the only criticism I have.

I recently went to Pier Point on Torquay harbourside for a meal with some friends.  I have to say that it was a lovely evening and the views across the Bay were stunning this is probably one of the closest restaurants to the sea that you can get in Torbay, you can almost reach out and touch it!!

Pier Point Torquay - Disappointing!

However although the ambiance is perfect, the food and service was another matter!!!   We placed our order for food, there were 8 of us in our group, the restaurant itself was not full at the time, we had nearly an hours wait for our food which I found unacceptable!  When it arrived although it looked very nice and was presented well the portions were very small for the price!  We all thought the wait was far too long, and I had to order a sweet because I was still very hungry after my main course, my friend and I decided to share a sweet but to be honest it was so miniscule that even a 5 year old would have been asking for more!!

The restaurant is in a beautiful location but I will not be returning as I do not like being kept waiting so long before I eat and also I do not consider it is value for money!!

I regularly visit the Brioche Cafe whenever I go to Totnes as the food there is lovely, I always  have a breakfast everything is cooked to perfection and is always hot and very tasty.  They do a special loose earl grey tea there with cinnamon in it I would definitely recommend trying that its lovely.

Totnes is a lovely place to visit very much like a small Glastonbury.  I would absolutely recommend the Brioche Cafe when visiting, it is situated at the top of the town on the right hand side.

I recently went to the Hare & Hounds and had a really lovely meal.  I had the carvery which is always delicious, plenty of choice of meats and vegetables, you can pile your plate up so I never come away feeling hungry!  The staff are always very friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.

There is a good choice of meals on their menu, and every day there is also a special menu of what is available on that day.  I had a lovely dessert too creme brulee which is my absolute favorite!   I would definitely recommend the Hare & Hounds to everyone.

I went to Exmouth a couple of days ago with a friend, we were walking along the seafront and decided to have lunch in the Grove, we both ordered a ploughmans and a cider each!  It was lovely!!!  The food was great and the service was brilliant!  We didn’t have to wait very long at all from the time we placed our order.  It wasn’t very expensive either.

I would recommend this pub to anyone who happens to be visiting Exmouth, we sat out in the beer garden as it was a lovely hot day, an extra plus as the weather was so nice too.
