Spring Bank Holiday is now only a couple of weeks away and where better to spend the long weekend than in Torquay.
Now that the days are getting longer and the weather a bit warmer Torquay is an ideal place to spent a long weekend.
The Carlton Court Guest House Torquay offers its guests the highest standards of quality and style right in the centre of town. Everything is within easy reach but the Guest House road is very quiet.
Spent a lovely relaxing day in Glastonbury yesterday. It’s a bit like a bigger Totnes. Beautiful sunny day all day just like in Torbay. It’s a town steepen in history, legend says that Joseph of Aramathea landed at Glastonbury where he stuck his staff in the ground and took root. The tree (known as the Holy Thorn) can still be seen on Wearyall Hill. Thought here is not much to now see as some mindless moron vandalised it a few months ago.

Two other things to do while in Glastonbury is to climb the Tor to St Michaels Mount (Fantastic views on a clear day) and visit the Chalace Well Gardens. I would not recommend going at weekends or on public holidays though as the place is usually full of screaming kids. At quiet time though the gardens are a peaceful sanctuary where you can chill our and taste the well water.

For a lovely breakfast I would recommend the Mocha Berry always very good quality. Lunch or coffee would have to be at La Terre and for evening meal of a very high standard try the Who’d A Thought It. Also a good place to stay if you want overnight Bed and Breakfast.
